Today, he carries that same spirit of service into his role with BLU Healing Hearts. Inspired by the Sanskrit meaning of “BLU,” which reflects a powerful future, he dedicates his experience to initiatives that turn compassion into action. A decorated sportsman and natural motivator, Capt. Singh believes success is not only about business growth but also about uplifting lives. His vision helps keep the charity a source of hope and meaningful change for the community.

Having spent over 35 years in the shipping industry I’ve witnessed how solid leadership and compassion can transform lives. BLU Healing Hearts’ mission to “bridge compassion and action,” uplifting communities through impactful contributions in Singapore, deeply resonates with me. Their symbolism of BLU—meaning “a powerful future”—echoes my own values of empowerment and purposeful service. I am drawn to contribute my professional acumen, strategic insight, and heartfelt dedication to help advance BLU Healing Hearts’ mission. Joining the board of Blue Healing Hearts would allow me to support and amplify their meaningful work, ensuring positive change for those in need.

Harmita Singh has already proven herself to be an innovative next-generation leader with a strong sense of social responsibility. At BLU Healing Hearts, she plays a central role in projects that support cancer care, education, community kitchens and underprivileged families. Her background in the maritime industry and her experience as founder of the health-focused brand OATSi give her a unique blend of creativity and resilience. Harmita believes success is measured not only in professional achievement but also in how we serve others, and she brings this spirit of compassion and innovation into the heart of the charity’s work.

Amrita Bakshi

Amrita Bakshi combines her professional expertise in finance and maritime with a deep personal passion for food, community and service. As Director of Finance at BLU Maritime and co-founder of OATSi, she has built a career on reliability, attention to detail and dedication. Beyond her work, she shares her love of cooking through her recipe platform Savour the Flavour and her published cookbook, which reach communities around the world. At BLU Healing Hearts, Amrita channels her energy and creativity into initiatives supporting education, cancer care and community kitchens, ensuring the charity continues to heal hearts and bring people together.
